A warm welcome to my website. The decision to seek therapy can be a big step, but an important one. It can feel hard to acknowledge that something is a problem and ask for help, but in confronting difficulties we have the opportunity for growth and recovery.
I am a clinical psychologist working both in person in Barcelona, Spain, and remotely with clients in the UK. I trained at University College London and have been helping children and adults for a number of years both in the NHS and privately. Read through my website to understand who I can help, the types of problems I work with and the next steps to take.
Help for adults
My aim is to help reduce the distress of symptoms such as anxiety, low mood, anger or self-critical thoughts. I can help with a range of problems, including anxiety, depression, panic, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, addiction and problems with relationships.
I want to help people not just overcome difficult feelings, but also work towards a more fulfilling life. The specifics will be unique to each person, but it may involve more harmonious relationships, greater satisfaction at work and more meaningful pastimes and pursuits.
Help for children and families
With younger children, I can help with worries and feelings of sadness, problems sleeping, difficulties at school and managing anger and conflicts. I am passionate about working with families and schools to understand behaviour, improve learning and help children feel happy and settled.
The teenage years are a period of rapid change and development which can bring new difficulties. I can help with issues such as uncertainty about gender or sexual identity, social stresses and the pressure of exams.
I am also experienced supporting children who have a diagnosis of autism, ADHD or a learning disability.
My approach
I believe strongly in the therapeutic relationship, and the importance of being patient and taking time to understand difficulties.
With young people I work both one-to-one and, where possible, with the wider family. Often problems arise through patterns of relating which everyone is caught in but which can be hard to understand and escape. In my work I am influenced by ideas from Family and Narrative Therapy.
With adults I draw on a variety of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic theory and Compassion-Focused Therapy.
Getting started
If you’d like to discuss starting therapy, please contact me by email. I will then arrange a call with you to get a brief idea about what you would like help with and we can arrange a time to meet for our first session.
Fees
I recognise that private therapy is a big financial commitment, therefore I try to keep my fees as low as possible. I also keep some low-fee slots for people who are unemployed or on a low income. Please contact me for my current rates.
